Skin Types—Normal/Dry Skin

Normal/Dry

This is actually my own skin type. When people have normal to dry skin, their skin normally appears flawless, except for a few places where the skin could be peeling. People with Normal to Dry skin are MORE PRONE TO WRINKLES because wrinkles appear when the skin is dry and then doesn’t have anything to moisturize it to make it more flexible. Think about your lips during the winter (without lip balm)…What happens when you smile? Sometimes, if your lips are dry enough, they crack, and then they might even start to bleed. Now, what would have happened if your lips were nice and moisturized with your trusty chapstick/lip balm??? Nothing! Your lips would have been fine, and moving them would not have been as painful. This is the same thing with how wrinkles are prone to people with dry skin. If you tend to squint your eyes a lot when it’s dry around your eye area, you’re likely to develop little wrinkles around your eyes because it’s just like those lips that weren’t moisturized…it develops a “crack” or in this case, a wrinkle. Thus, my advice to you people out there with Normal/Dry skin is to MOISTURIZE!!!! BUT take note. Different age groups also means different moisturizers. Don’t go puttin on that $300 regenerative cream if you’re only 20!!! The results might be good for your mom, but they are NOT for you. Girls from ages 20-30 should try to use more water based products, 30-40 should try something with a good mixture between water and good oils (like fish oil), 40-50 should look for products that are more rich and creamy, and 50+ should try to aim for those regenerative skin care products that would help boost the elasticity in your skin, like collagen.
