Exfoliators
The best type of exfoliator is one that can scrub away your dead skin, but keep it hydrated at the same time. Most exfoliators have issues with keeping your skin hydrated after scrubbing off that dead layer of skin, in fact, it can make it feel so dry that you feel as if you can’t move your face. The one I’m using right now is from Dr. Oasis called “White Peeling Gel” (ret:$40).

It’s expensiveeeee, which is why I’m gonna show you how to make your own right in your kitchen.
What you’ll need:
- Sugar-exfoliator for all skin types
- Salt-oily skin exfoliator
- Olive Oil-for easy movement/dry skin
- Honey-for moisturizing/sensitive skin
Sugar and salt are great natural exfoliators that you can use for your skin that are simple and easy to use. Might not be the most hydrating, but it’s great if you need one and don’t have the money to get one.
- Take 2 teaspoons of sugar (or salt) and place it in a bowl
- Mix 4 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of honey into the bowl as well
- stirrrrrrr stirrrrr stirrrrrr
- Using your clean fingers, gently apply it to the skin in circular motions all over the face. Take your time and don’t scrub too hard. It’s rougher than most exfoliants, so you want to apply just enough pressure to keep the exfoliator from dripping off your face. (I highly recommend wearing a headband and doing this with your face over the sink because it could get a little messy)
- Rinse VERY well after your done! I recommend using cold to room temperature water for people with dryer/sensitive skin, and warm water for people with oily skin. (The cooler temperature of the water will help keep moisture in for people with dry/sensitive skin, and the warmer temperature will dry out the oils for the people with oily skin)
- Do this 1-2 times a week, and if you have a mask, use your mask the day you exfoliate your skin. It will let the mask’s ingredients soak deeper into the skin now because now, you removed an excess layer that would’ve wasted the mask’s product. This is good because masks are meant to only be used about 2 times a week anyways. So that way, you’ll get better results for your money spent on masks too!
